  • In the Oka Sho, the first classic race, she was 2nd favorite.
    The most favorite was Lucky Lilac, the two-year-old queen.
    Almond Eye didn’t get off to a good start and was second in the back.
    She passed 15 horses in the home stretch.
    She won by 1+3/4 lengths and broke the race-record.
    It was her first G1 win.
  • In the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks), the second classic race, she was 1st favorite.
    She took the lead 200m before the finish-line and won by 2 lengths.
  • In the Shuka Sho, the third classic race, she was 1st favorite.
    She won by 1+1/2 lengths.
    She became a Triple Crown filly.
  • In the Japan Cup, she showed a great run.
    She beat the race-record by a whopping 1.5 seconds.
    She also broke the world record for the 2400m-turf-race by 1.3 seconds.
  • She won the JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Filly (2018) and JRA Award for Horse of the Year (2018) by full votes.
    It was the first time since T.M. Opera O in 2000 that a horse had been elected as the Horse of the Year by full votes.

    Almond Eye showed a perfect last run.
    After all, as per the order of favorites, Almond Eye finished 1st, Contrail finished 2nd, and Daring Tact finished 3rd.
