In 2013 (age 3)
- In the Hyogo Championship, he was easy to win by 6 lengths.
His performance was so good that his connections announced after the race that he would run in the Derby on turf.
However, due to injury he was rested.
In 2014 (age 4)
- Before the February Stakes, his stablemate, Testa Matta, was scheduled to run, but retired due to injury.
Copano Rickey hadn’t been eligible to run before, but Testa Matta’s retirement opened up a slot for him.
He won the lottery with a one in two chance and was given the right to run.

In the race, he was the lowest favorite. (16th fav.)
Hokko Tarumae, Belshazzar, Best Warrior, Wonder Acute and other talented horses were there.
Copano Rickey took the lead early.
He didn’t allow Hokko Tarumae to catch up with him.
It was his first G1 win.
He was the fourth horse to win a JRA G1 race when it was the lowest favorite. - He went on to win the Kashiwa Kinen and the JBC Classic, and became a major horse in dirt racing with Hokko Tarumae.
In 2015 (age 5)
- He became the first horse in history to win the February Stakes back-to-back.
- He also won the JBC Classic back to back.
- He won the JRA Award for Best Dirt Horse (2015).
In 2016-2017 (age 6-7)
- He continued to be a major horse of dirt racing.
- In the Tokyo Daishoten, it was his retirement race.
He won by 3 lengths.
He retired with his 11th G1 and Jpn1 race win, the most of all time.
