    He overtook the horses in front of him about 150 meters before the finish line to take the lead and finish in 1st place.
    It was his first G1 win.
    He became Japan’s second winner of the Hong Kong Sprint after his sire, Lord Kanaloa.
    (Lord Kanaloa has won two times, so Danon Smash is the third winner.)
    It was the first time for a sire and crop to win the same G1 races in Hong Kong.
    His trainer, Takayuki Yasuda, was also once the trainer of Lord Kanaloa.
    When Lord Kanaloa won the Hong Kong Sprint, Yasuda said, “I would like to win the Hong Kong Sprint again with Lord Kanaloa’s crop,” and his words came true.
  • In the Takamatsunomiya Kinen (2021), he was the 2nd favorite.
    He won by a neck over the 2nd place finisher, Resistencia.
    He also finally won a G1 title in Japan.
  • In the Hong Kong Sprint (2021), he was involved in an terrible accident.
    Two horses were fatally injured in the accident.
    Danon Smash got away from the accident and finished in 8th place.
    He was later retired and became a stallion.
