In the Spring Stakes, he reached the finish line at the same time as Stelvio.
Stelvio won the race as a result of photo judgment.
Epoca d’Oro earned the priority right to run in the Satsuki Sho.
In the Satsuki Sho, he was the 7th favorite.
Danon Premium, who had shown his overwhelming ability as a 2-year-old, had to withdraw from the race, so Wagnerian was the 1st favorite and Stelvio was the 2nd favorite.
Epoca d’Oro led the second group and easily overtook the horses in front in the homestretch to take the lead.
He went on to win by 2 lengths.
It was his first G1 win.

Epoca d’Oro led the pack from the start of the race.
He ran tenaciously but was overtaken by Wagnerian before the finish line and finished 2nd by 1/2 lengths.
He had an intestinal strain while resting after the 2019 Osaka Hai.
He tried to return to racing but his condition was not ready and he retired in August 2020.
Fans were concerned about whether he could become a stallion because of his racing results, his pedigree and the fact that his sire, Orfevre, was still young, but he was able to become a stallion.
