- In the Sapporo Nikkei Sho, his jockey fell off shortly after the race began.
From there, Gallop Dyna was on his own for a perfect run.
He ran the rail and changed his leading-limb and finished 1st.
He was, of course, disqualified. - Before the Tenno Sho (Autumn 1985), Symboli Rudolf was getting so much attention.
Gallop Dyna wasn’t originally going to run in the race, he was going to run in a lower ranked race.
However, his breeder and owner, Zenya Yoshida of Shadai Farm, thought, “It would be no good if there were no horses from Shadai Farm, the best farm in Japan, in the major race where Symboli Rudolf of Symboli Farm is running.”
Gallop Dyna was going to run in the Tenno Sho.
He’d won seven of his thirty-three races at this point, and his only win on the turf was in his debut race.
His jockey was hard to find, and it ended up being a jockey he had never ridden in a race or in training.
His jockey, Yasuhiro Nemoto, naturally didn’t think he could win.
///
In the race, he was 13th favorite.
When Gallop Dyna was first passed by Symboli Rudolf, his jockey was thinking carefree, “Rudolf is so strong. He’ll win.”
Gallop Dyna was passing more and more of the other horses.
His jockey was pleased, but frantically working his horse.
Gallop Dyna passed Symboli Rudolf and finished 1st.
When Gallop Dyna crossed the finish line, his jockey thought, “Why? and Really?”
He broke the record time.
It was his first G1 win.

The TV commentator said, “あっと驚くギャロップダイナ”.
This word has become a commonly used word to describe him.
“”あっと驚くギャロップダイナ”” is directly translated into English as “”Amazing like as “Oh!” – Gallop Dyna”” - In the Yasuda Kinen (1986), he was 1st favorite.
He won by 1+3/4 lengths.
