- In the Aoba Sho, he was 1st favorite.
He won by 1+3/4 lengths.
He got to go on to the Derby. - In the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby), the second classic race, he was 2nd favorite.
Tokai Teio was by far the most favorite.
Leo Durban and Tokai Teio took the lead almost at the same time.
But Tokai Teio was so strong and fast that Leo Durban could not keep up with him.
In the end, Tokai Teio won by 3 lengths and became a Double Crown winner. - In the St.Lite Kinen, he was 1st favorite, but he finished 3rd.
- In the Kikuka Sho, the third classic race, he was 3rd favorite.
Tokai Teio, who was expected to win the third crown, was unable to run due to injury.
