  • In the Tokyo Sports Hai Sansai Stakes, he lost to King Halo and finished 2nd.
  • In the Asahi Hai Sansai Stakes, he was 6th favorite.
His time in the race was tied for the race record.
But Grass Wonder broke the record time by 0.4 seconds.
  • In the New Zealand Trophy Yonsai Stakes, he lost to El Condor Pasa and finished 3rd.
He later ran in the NHK Mile Cup, which was then called the Derby for foreign-bred horses, but finished 7th.
  • In the Centour Stakes, he was 2nd favorite.
    He finally won the grade-race.
  • In the Sprinters Stakes, he was 7th favorite.
It was the retirement race for Taiki Shuttle.
Taiki Shuttle was by far the most favorite. (×1.1)
Seeking the Pearl was 2nd favorite. (×10.5)
In the Home Stretch, Meiner Love lined up beside Taiki Shuttle and fought him hard.
Meiner Love passed Taiki Shuttle and crossed the finish line without being overtaken by Seeking the Pearl.
Almost all of the horse racing fans were convinced that Taiki Shuttle would win, but Meiner Love won.
It was his first G1 win.

Evaluation of him

  • His owner, Mr. Okada, the president of the Thoroughbred Club Ruffian, thought that he was a horse that could be a target for the Kentucky Derby.
  • He had a lot of second place finishes due to his temperament.
Especially in his later years, he had a very rough temperament and inconsistent performance.
In addition to that, the horses born in 1995 are known as “the Strongest Generation”.
His competitors of the same age were strong.

As a stallion

  • He didn’t produce any G1 winners, but he was in demand as a stallion who sired consistent crops.
  • His crops were reputed to grow up fast, as they moved with good sense from an early age.
