- Mejiro Dober had an older brother (sire: Sunday Silence, dam: Mejiro Beauty).
But he soon developed severe jaundice and died of an infection.
Examination of Mejiro Beauty’s blood revealed that she had a special blood type.
If Mejiro Beauty is not compatible with stallions, breastfeeding a foal will cause anemia and become a life threat.
Her sire Mejiro Ryan was not compatible with Mejiro Beauty, so Mejiro Dober got colostrum and immunity from Mejiro Laurent who is a mare different from her dam.
If it weren’t for her brother’s death, she might be dead.
