  • In the Nagoya Grand Prix (2011), he was the 1st favorite and won by 2 lengths.
He won his first grade race at the end of his four-year-old season.
  • In the Japan Cup Dirt (2012), he was the 6th favorite.
As he came into the home stretch, his jockey, Manabu Sakai, remained motionless and waited patiently.
As soon as Sakai made a move, Nihonpiro Ours showed tremendous acceleration and won by 3+1/2 lengths over the 2nd place finisher, Wonder Acute.
It was his first G1 win.
It was also the first G1 win for the jockey, Manabu Sakai.
For the famous owner known by the horse name ニホンピロ (Nihon Pillow,  Nihonpillow, Nihonpiro), it had been the first JRA G1 race victory in 27 years, since Nihon Pillow Winner in 1985.
Manabu Sakai could not do much as a jockey and tried to retire in 2006, but this owner stopped Sakai from retiring.
Sakai gave back to the owners in the best possible way.
It was also the first G1 win for the trainer and the breeder.
  • He was selected as the JRA Best Dirt Horse in 2012, although he won only one JRA race, the Japan Cup Dirt.
  • He did not win any G1 races after that, but he remained active for a long time and retired after the Nagoya Grand Prix in December 2015.
