  • In the Oka Sho, the first classic race, she overtook London Bridge just before the finish-line.
    She won by 1+1/4 lengths.
    It was her first G1 win.
  • In the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks), the second classic race, she was first favorite.
    Some people thought that the race is long distance for her.
    She couldn’t catch up with Erimo Excel and finished 3rd.
    Her jockey Yutaka Take said “I didn’t think she could run such a long distance, so I made a mistake.”
  • In the Kansai TV Rose Stakes, she was 1st favorite.
    She made a pace and won.
  • In the Shuka Sho, the last classic race, she was 2nd favorite.
    She took the lead at the beginning of the home stretch.
    She won by 1+1/2 lengths.
    She became a Double Crown filly.
  • She won the JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Filly (1998).
  • After the Shuka Sho, she couldn’t win for a while.
  • Before the Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2000), her connections announced her retirement after the race.
    She was 3rd favorite. (1st: Fusaichi Airedale , 2nd: To The Victory)
    In the race, To The Victory and Fusaichi Airedale competed hard in the home stretch.
    Phalaenopsis was waiting for a chance behind them.
    When To The Victory started to delay, Phalaenopsis overtook them.
    It was her first victory in two years.
    As the name “Phalaenopsis” means, she has come back.
  • She won the JRA Award for Best Older Filly or Mare (2000).
    In her retirement ceremony, she was presented with the Garland of Phalaenopsis aphrodite.
