- In the Hochi Hai Yayoi Sho, he lost to Special Week.
It was his first time to run with Special Week.
Seiun Sky, Special Week and King Halo were treated as top three horses in the classic races. - In the Satsuki Sho, the first classic race, he was 2nd favorite.
He made a pace and took the lead in the home corner.
King Halo and Special Week could not catch up him.
It was his first G1 win. - In the Tokyo Yushun, the second classic race, he was 3rd favorite.
King Halo ran at a devastating pace from the start of the race.
Special Week overtook other horses in the home stretch.
Seiun Sky finished in 4th place. - In the Kyoto Daishoten, he won by a neck.
He beat old horses such as Mejiro Bright, Silk Justice and Stay Gold. - In the Kikuka Sho, the third classic race, he was 2nd favorite.
He became the front runner and ran the first 1,000 meters in a very fast 59.6 seconds.
The other horses didn’t try to keep up with the fast pace he made.
He ran the next 1,000 meters at a slower pace of 64.3 seconds and saved his power.
The other horses were so misled by him that they didn’t try to close the gap between them and him.
He ran the last 1,000 meters in 59.3 seconds.
Special Week couldn’t catch up with him.
His jockey’s strategy worked beautifully.
They completely dominated the race.
He won by 3+1/2 lengths.
He became a Double Crown horse.
He broke the course record and the world record in turf 3000m race. - In the Arima Kinen, he lost to Grass Wonder.
- He was expected to be selected for the JRA Award for Best Three-Year-Old Colt.
But El Condor Pasa was selected for it.
It was a first time that a Double Crown horse was not selected for it. - In 1999 (age 4), he won two G2 races.
In the Nikkei Sho, he was easy to win by 5 lengths.
In the Sapporo Kinen, he won defeating Phalaenopsis who is a Double Crown filly in the same age.
He could not win a G1 race in this year.
