  • In the Oka Sho, the first classic race for fillies, she was 4th favorite.
She lost to Gentildonna by 1/2 lengths and finished 2nd.
  • In the Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks), the second classic race for fillies, she was 2nd favorite.
Gentildonna was 3rd favorite because her older sister, Donau Blue, had only been successful in short distances.
Gentildonna showed an overwhelming performance that far exceeded the horse racing fan’s expectations.
Verxina finished 2nd, but lost by 5 lengths.
  • It was the autumn season, and she ran the Rose Stakes, a pre-race for the last classic race, Shuka Sho.
She was 2nd favorite and finished 2nd.
    The winner was Gentildonna.
  • In the Shuka Sho, the last classic race for fillies, she was 2nd favorite.
Verxina and Gentildonna were side by side on the homestretch.
They passed Cherry Medusa at the front and crossed the finish line.

Verxina lost to Gentildonna by a nose (about 7cm).
    Gentildonna completed the Triple Crown.
And Verxina became the perfect Semi-triple Crown horse.
(She is the first horse to become a semi-triple crown winner since Katsura Shuho in 1958.
The famous semi-triple crown winner outside Japan is Alydar, who was also very successful as a stallion.)
  • In the Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ Cup (2012), she was 1st favorite due to Gentildonna’s absence.
She lost to Rainbow Dahlia and finished 2nd.
She had finished 2nd in five consecutive races.
  • In the Victoria Mile (2013), she was 1st favorite.
She won by a nose over 2nd place finisher, Whale Capture.
It was her first G1 win.
(Gentildonna’s sister, Donau Blue, also ran in the race and finished 5th.)
  • In the Victoria Miule (2014), she was 11th favorite.
She had been very sluggish since her win the previous year.
She took the lead right from the start.
She crossed the finish line in 1st place, ahead of Meisho Mambo, Whale Capture and Straight Girl.
It was her first victory in a year.
  • She retired at the end of 2014.
  • Cheval Grand is her brother.
    Vivlos is her sister.
