  • In the Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes, he won his first grade race.
  • In the Satsuki Sho, he became the 1st favorite, partly because Danon Premium avoided the race.
He lost to Epoca d’Oro and finished 7th.
  • In the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby), he was the 5th favorite.
He had to start from the outside gate which was not good, but he was able to get a good position.
He passed Danon Premium and Epoca d’Oro in the home stretch to finish 1st.
It was his first G1 win.
His jockey, Yuichi Fukunaga, won the Derby for the first time in his 19th start.
  • He won the next race after the Derby, the Kobe Shimbun Hai, but didn’t tire out and has been rested since then in 2018.
The Best Three-Year-Old colt of 2018 went to Blast Onepiece.
  • In 2019, he finished 3rd in the Osaka Hai and Japan Cup, but failed to win a single race.
  • After the Takarazuka Kinen (2020), he underwent surgery on his throat, which was thought to be the cause of his poor performance.
  • In 2021, he came back from surgery, but he couldn’t win.
After finishing a lowly 18th in the Japan Cup, he was diagnosed with an internal disease and placed on medical leave.
  • On January 5, 2022, his condition deteriorated and he died.
The postmortem revealed that gallstones had clogged the bile ducts and caused multiple organ failure.
There was great sadness and shock that the Derby horse had died of illness while still in active racing.
This is the first time since Keystone in 1967 that a Derby horse has died while still in active racing.
