It is often said that the JRA jockeys, especially the cronies of Wonder Perfume’s jockey, Seiki Tabara, colluded to surround Raiden Leader.
Wonder Perfume broke away from the pack of horses smoothly and won by a neck.
She broke the race record.
It was her first G1 win.
Dance Partner (No.17) finished 2nd after a slow starting and coming from the back of the pack, while Prime Stage (No.13), a daughter of Dyna Actress, finished 3rd and Raiden Leader (No.6) finished 4th. - In the Yushun Himba, she was 7th favorite.
Before the race, it was predicted that the race would be too long for her, but she ran well and finished 3rd. - She became unwell in the autumn.
The following year, at the Kyoto Himba Tokubetsu, it would be decided whether she would retire or not. - In the Kyoto Himba Tokubetsu, she was 2nd favorite.
She broke down on the No.3 corner and had to stop racing.
She was diagnosed as having a complex fracture of the left front leg and was euthanized.
