- In the Satsuki Sho, the first classic race, he was 9th favorite.
The race was held at Tokyo Racecourse instead of Nakayama Racecourse in that year.
He took the lead 300m before the finish-line.
Sakura Chiyono O and Dictor Land couldn’t catch up with him.
It was his first G1 win. - In the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby), the second classic race, he was 4th.
Sakura Chiyono O won the race. - In the Kikuka Sho, the last classic race, he was 10th.
Super Creek won the race. - In the Tenno Sho (autumn 1990), he was 3rd favorite.
He took the lead 400m before the finish-line.
He won for the first time in a year and a half. - In the Arima Kinen (1990), it was the last race for him.
It was the last race for Oguri Cap, and there were a lot of spectators to watch Oguri Cap.
He turned riderless as he entered the racetrack.
There was nothing wrong with him, so he was able to run in the race without being ruled out.
He finished in 7th place.
Episode
- Oguri Cap wasn’t registered for the classic races, so he couldn’t run.
Yaeno Muteki lost to Oguri Cap in the Mainichi Hai and won the Satsuki Sho without Oguri Cap.
Criticism arose over why Oguri Cap was not allowed to compete in the classics, leading to a rule change that allowed unregistered horses to compete if they paid an additional registration fee.
(That rule began in 1992, and in 1996 T.M. Opera O was added to the register and won the Satsuki Sho.) - JRA offered to hold a retirement ceremony for his connections, but they declined because of his bad temper.
- According to his stable hand, when Shiyono Roman was near him, he would stare at her and never move, suggesting that he was in love with her.
(Shiyono Roman was unresponsive to him.)
